The court of additional city sessions judge RH Sharma awarded life imprisonment to a person convicted in a murder case. The court awarded lifer to Rupesh Bansilal, 33, a resident of Bapunagar, in connection with the murder of one Chotubhai Mangaldas Vankar, also a resident of Bapunagar.

The court has also slapped a fine of Rs10,000 on Bansilal and has ordered that a failure to pay the fine would extend his imprisonment by two more years.

Prosecution lawyer Dinesh Sharma said, “It was after examining the 12 documentary evidences and seven witnesses that the court passed the verdict, ruling that there was no ground for leniency.”

As per case details, on March 22, 2008, at around 7 pm, Bansilal had gone to meet Vankar at Vivekanand society in Odhav area. Bansilal demanded Rs200 from Vankar as rent commission which Vankar refused to pay. The duo had an argument over the issue after which Vankar agreed to pay the amount.
