Army officer held in Indore for possessing live cartridges

An army officer was today arrested for allegedly possessing two live cartridges at the Devi Ahilyabai Airport here, police said.

Dogra regiment captain Rajiv Rana was arrested while he was to board a Jet Airways flight to Delhi, along with his family members, they said.

According to police, two live cartridges were recovered from the 28-year-old officer, when his bag was searched.

Rana, hailing from Jalandar, has been booked under the Arms Act, police said adding that he is being interrogated further.
