Besides the regular events on Wednesday, a havan outside Town Hall, a prayer by BJP members at Bhadrakali temple, a rally by physically challenged from Gandhi Ashram apart from a separate rally by LD Engineering students were the highlights of the day.
At 12pm, a havan conducted outside Town Hall prayed for Anna Hazare and Chandrakant Barot's well-being, while more than 800 BJP members offered prayers at the Bhadrakali temple for Hazare's good health.
At 1.30pm, around 25 physically challenged people carried out a rally from Gandhi Ashram till Gandhinagar under the aegis of Darshu Care Public Charitable Trust.
Founder of the trust, Darshita Shah said, "One of our friends Vishnu Mehta, a resident of Surat, had come down to Ahmedabad to lead the rally till Gandhinagar. From there, Mehta, who left for New Delhi to support Hazare, is also on fast till he reaches Delhi. We are supporting both Hazare and Mehta in their fight."
At 3pm, famous Daayro Hasyadarbar artiste Praful Hingu kept the audiences enthralled with his quotations against corruption.
A team of engineering students from LD Engineering College carried out a rally at 6.30pm.
"We began this rally with 50 students of LD and other colleges. We covered a total 6.5kms on Wednesday, we aim to cover at least 10kms on Thursday .The Lokpal Bill is for our future generations and we must act now," said Aniket Soni, a second year computer engineering student.
As the evening set in, members of UVA Azadi carried out a road show from IT Circle to SG Highway. They will carry out the rally in the coming days. Many supporters were also seen burning effigies of Congress party at Bapunagar.
