A clock presented by US president Barack Obama and a rolex watch worth Rs4 lakh given by Oman defence minister Sayyed Badr are among the 250 mementos handed over to the Kerala assembly museum by defence minister AK Antony.

Antony presented the mementos, received by him on various occasions and during trips abroad, to the assembly speaker K Radhakrishnan in a function held at the legislature complex last night.

"Whatever I get will be for Kerala," Antony said, presenting the model of an aircraft carrier to the Speaker. "All positions are temporary. The positions of ex-minister, ex-MLA and ex-MP are the only ones that will last," he said.

All these costly mementos received last year from Heads of State, Defence Ministers, Indian Army, Navy and Air Force and the ones received at functions, would now be exhibits at the assembly museum to be inaugurated on March 3.

Antony had earlier handed over to the history museum in the city the mementos he received as chief minister and during his earlier stint in the Union cabinet.

Congress deputy leader in the House G Karthikeyan and Congress legislature party secretary KC Joseph were also present.
