Ahmedabad police recreate Ghatlodia jeweller cheating case scene

Meghna Dave, who is accused of cheating a Ghatlodia jeweller of valuables worth lakhs of rupees, is reportedly not cooperating with the investigators. This forced the police to re-create the scene of crime at the jeweller's shop on Wednesday. The crime scene was recreated in the presence of forensic science laboratory experts.

Sources said FSL experts reiterated that Meghna is the girl in the CCTV footage of the jeweller's shop. The experts had also earlier studied the body language of the girl to find out if she was the one in the CCTV footage.

However, Dave has maintained that she does not know the complainant and so has not confessed to the crime.

Meanwhile, the police are also questioning Meghna to know about her involvement in several such cheating cases registered in Odhav and Bapunagar.

The police are also hunting for one Malay Dave, brother of Meghna, and Manish Patel, who is believed to be the kingpin of the gang.

The duo is suspected to have been hiding in Mumbai.
Ghatlodia police arrested Dave after she was brought to the police station by her father who came to know of his children's involvement in the cheating case.
