Pakistani hackers beware!. A group of youngsters in the city has united to form the Ahmedabad Cyber Army to protect Indian websites as well as attack Pakistani ones.

The army will counter cyber terrorism and will also keep an eye on suspicious websites which can carry out cyber attacks.   "The primary objective is to tackle cyber terrorism and protect Indian websites from cyber attacks, particularly from Pakistan," a member of ACA, who did not wish to be identified, told DNA.

There are many proxy servers and websites which are used by terrorist groups to send terror emails.  "Some members of the army have also been given the task of identifying and tapping such proxy websites, which could be used for communication between the terrorists during a terror attack," the source said.

The member further said that there are many instances of Indian websites failing to repel hackers.  The members said it is during this situation that the members of the cyber army will try to protect the website after the owner of such a website gives his or her consent.
The members of ACA also plan to hack in to Pakistani websites and gather information about the country's anti-India activity. A legal expert on cyber laws, on condition of anonymity, said that while it is illegal to hack Indian websites there is no law preventing hacking of Pakistani websites.

ACA has no legal identity and no specific website however, its members regularly keep in touch through various means including social networking sites.  "The names of suspicious websites are taken down and traced. Those whose websites have been hacked too can contact us through social networking sites," said the source.
