On Saturday night, Kalol police busted a liquor party that had been organised at a farm in Rancharda in Kalol taluka. Based on a tip-off, Kalol DySP Usha Rada along with her team raided Arjun Farm at Rancharda village at 8:30pm and found more than 50 boys and girls having a booze party.

Police learned that the owner of the farm, Jitendra Lalbhai Shah, had organised the party and sneaked in liquor bottles in the farm, which is some 10 kms away from Ahmedabad. During the raid, police found 20 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor along with beer bottles and boxes of pop corn.

The lavish farm house was exquisitely decorated when the raid was conducted. Apart from fancy clothes and pizza counters, a DJ party was also going on at the farm. Police also recovered a cake from the kitchen, on which it was written "Happy Anniversary to Mom and Dad". After primary investigation, it was revealed that all the boys and girls are from affluent families of Ahmedabad.

According to Usha Rada, DySP Kalol, 38 young boys and 10 girls were detained at the party. "The owner Jitendra Shah lives at Ahmedabad and he owns a trading agency in New Cloth Market, Sarnagpur. He is known for such activities at his farm," said Rada.
Sources say that young boys and girls belonging to top IPS and IAS officers and businessmen's families used to attend such liquor parties. Since the farm in Rancharda is far away from the city, it has become a safe haven for such illegal goings-on.
