BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said that the resignation of telecom minister A Raja was 'inadequate' and demanded that those involved in the alleged irregularities in allocation of 2G spectrum should be brought to justice.

"For the purpose of saving others skins, a pawn (Raja) has been made a scape goat," Gadkari said, adding, the DMK leader was not alone responsible for the alleged scam as the telecom ministry, the PMO and groups of ministers would have been part of the decision taken on the spectrum deal.

Only an indepth and fair inquiry could unravel the truth, he told newsmen in Patna.

"There are so many others who are also involved in the deal involving Rs1.76 lakh crore, which is 3 per cent of the country's GDP. They will face the music now," he said.

"Now it has to be seen who were the other people from the South involved," he said without naming any party.

BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh owned an explanation to the nation about the alleged irregularity.

JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav described Raja's resignation as a 'victory' and said NDA leaders met today and decided to intensify pressure on the government for a JPC probe.
