The first day of the HSC board examinations of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) began on Thursday with mathematics for science stream students. Majority of the students found the paper to be simple, albeit a bit lengthy.

The new pattern of exam paper, which consists of 50 multiple choice questions (MCQs), made the paper easy, felt the students.

"I am so happy that the paper was easy. With just a few difficult questions, the rest of the paper was simple. I am expecting to score more than 80 percent," said a smiling Raj Patel, student of CN Vidyalaya.

Junaid Rana, a student of Diwan Ballubhai School said that majority of the questions were from the textbook, as was expected. Also, a majority of the students found that the paper was simpler than their preliminary exams.

Hiral Parkhi, student of Sharda Mandir School, shared that Part A of the paper, which consisted of MCQ was simpler than Part B, which consisted of subjective questions.

"Half of the battle is won as the beginning was good. Now let's hope that the rest of the papers will be as good," said a parent Ghanshyam Bhavsar, after his daughter Dharti came out happy after the exam.
