At least 125 people were taken ill and hospitalised after eating food at a marriage function in a village here.

Soon after consuming food at the wedding ceremony in Rasoolpur village last night, they started vomiting and were rushed to the civil hospital.

Some 125 people were admitted for treatment, KP Singh, a doctor attached with the civil hospital, said.

Later, those in serious condition were sent to Delhi, he said.

Naresh Kumar, in-charge of Chola police station under which village Rasoolpur falls, said the meal, which was served to the guests, was cooked in the morning and probably got spoiled during the day.
