Surat: Man chops 32-year-old girlfriend into 11 pieces, police recovers severed head from his flat

In a shocking incident, a married man killed his girlfriend and chopped her body into 11 pieces in Surat district of Gujarat.

The accused, who runs a bakery, was caught raid-handed by police while he was disposing of her body parts, reported Hindustan Times.

The accused identified as Shahnawaz Sheikh called Zulekha, a resident of Maharashtra, to an empty flat in Lal Gate area and committed the crime.

“Before the police caught him red-handed, he had already disposed of some other parts into the river,” a police officer told the daily.

A severed head of the victim was later recovered from the flat of the accused.

According to an investigation, a report said that  Shahnawaz’s wife and Zulekha used to fight frequently and his girlfriend had been forcing him to leave his wife.

Police suspect that Zulekha was into prostitution when the two first came into contact two years ago.
