A man was injured after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle belonging to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's cavalcade at Safidon area in Jind district on Sunday, said police.

Hosiar Singh, a plumber in the public health department got hit by the escort vehicle of the Chief Minister as he suddenly came close to it, Jind Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Jorwal said. He was walking after drinking water from a water cooler installed near the site where Khattar had addressed a function, he said.

"The man sustained an ankle injury and was immediately taken to civil hospital, where he was treated and is doing fine. Officials of the civil and police administration also visited him in the hospital," Jorwal said. Notably, in March this year, a youth was killed when he was allegedly hit by a PCR vehicle in Khattar's convoy near Taraori in Karnal district. Later in the same month, a recovery vehicle in Khattar's convoy had allegedly rammed into a motorbike on Panipat-Sanauli road, leaving two youths injured.
