Government school teacher in Kota arrested for sexual harassment

A-53-year-old teacher of a government middle school here was arrested today for the alleged sexual harassment of a tribal minor girl.

The parents of the 16-year-old girl, a class VI student of the institute, lodged a case against Abdul Hammid Siddique at Nayapura police station.

According to the complaint, Siddique on the pretext of having a discussion about her studies, called the teenager at an secluded location in the school building this afternoon. Following which, the teacher launched a sexual assault on the girl, the complaint said.

The girl reached home and informed her parents about the incident. A case under relevant sections of the IPC, SC/ST Act and PCSO Act has been registered against the teacher, who has been arrested, Circle Inspector Nayapura Gopichand Meena said.
