The Geography [history, civics and geography (HCG)] question paper - II of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) board examination for class X, held on March 11, and the question for the preliminary examination of the Bombay Scottish School on January 9 look almost the same.

Most parents want school principals to probe the matter. While Bombay Scottish school authorities refute the allegations, the Council For the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) board officials claim they will investigate.

Social networking sites are abuzz with messages of the geography question paper of theICSE Xth board question paper being leaked.
Bombay Scottish Vice-Principal Sarah Thomas said that only one survey map is similar, but as the copies of both the question papers in the picture show, there are more similarities.

How many questions are the same?
The papers are 80% similar claim city parents and students. Even the order of the topography map and the climate chart of the Scottish preliminary examination is the same as the ICSE question paper. Many parents have sent mail to CISCE to probe the matter.

What are city schools, parents saying?
According to Wilfred Naronha, ICSE School, St. Mary's, "I got a few complaints fromparents, alleging that the geography question paper of the Scottish preliminary exam and board Xth exam was 80% same. But I haven't gone through it yet." One of the parents asked: "How can it be so similar."

What's Bombay Scottish saying?
Bombay Scottish Vice-Principal Sarah Thomas said: "It's impossible that the paper can be leaked. The board studies the preliminary question papers of all schools and see how they have asked questions and picks up the questions from any school. They see which school have asked questions the best way. So, probably the examiner might have picked up the survey map from our preliminary examination. According to my knowledge, only one survey map is similar in board question paper."

What is CISCE saying?
CISCE secretary and chief executive Gerry Arathoon said, "I have not received any complaint yet about this. But we will investigate the matter."
