"I wonder whether it is a very defensive approach because Robert Vadra has not spoken on the facts that are related to allegations that are coming against him. He has not cleared anything on it till date," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, who has so far not answered a single question on the allegation that have been raised against him, is making an attempt to somehow distance himself from the Nehru-Gandhi family.
"I wonder whether it is a very defensive approach because Robert Vadra has not spoken on the facts that are related to allegations that are coming against him. He has not cleared anything on it till date," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.
"He is additionally seeking to create distance between himself and the Nehru-Gandhi family because the allegations primarily point out to his actually taking benefit with that kind of proximity,"he added. Kohli further said Vadra is making an attempt to distance himself from the Nehru-Gandhi family.
"Where all the allegations then come that he has made use of the proximity to the Nehru-Gandhi family, when especially they were in power. I think this interview raises more questions and answers none," he added. Kohli also said that Vadra has nothing to fear if he has not broken any law.
"As long as he has done everything legally, what is there to fear". This interview perhaps seem to be more defensive point of view because he has not answered a single question on the allegation that have been raised against him. This he has not done ever,? he added
Vadra, whose land deals are being probed in the BJP-ruled states of Haryana and Rajasthan, earlier on Sunday said that a distinction should be made between him as an individual conducting business like anyone else.
Vadra alleged that the BJP was using attacks on him as a ?political tool to divert public attention?. The Congress president's son-in-law further said in an interview that he has always conducted business transparently in accordance with the law but he was being 'singled out' and 'lies' were spread about him.
