Disney-Fox deal: Stan Lee happy for 'X-Men,' 'Fantastic Four' homecoming

After the Walt Disney Co agreed to buy key film and television assets of 21st Century Fox, the creator of some of the most iconic Marvel characters Stan Lee expressed his happiness by saying that X-Men and Fantastic Four are coming back to the place where they belong.

The veteran thinks this this proposal is exciting prospect as it is "important" to bring all the characters from the pages of his comic books to come together on the big screen as well.

Still working within the realms of superheroes, the former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief said, "A truly great piece of news! Now characters such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four can come home to the place where they belong."

"It's vitally important to have the Marvel characters under one roof. And now, as great as they were before, I can't wait to see the wonders that will unfold, he added, reports contactmusic.com.

The Walt Disney Company has paid $52.4 billion for 21st Century Fox's movie and television assets, which will bring all of the characters from the world of 'X-Men' as well as those from 'The Fantastic Four' over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future.

The deal was officially confirmed this week.

The deal was hailed by US President Donald Trump, who congratulated Murdoch - in stark contrast to his administration's opposition to a tie-up between AT&T and Time Warner.
