The German actor, who makes her Bollywood debut with 'Honeymoon Travels', finds India amongst the best places to live.

The Germany-based Suzanne Bernert made her acting debut with a fleeting role in the serial 'Astitva' (Zee). Since then, she has made India her second home. Having acted in soaps like 'Aisa Des Hai Mera' (Sony) and 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' (Star Plus) later, Bernert is now awaiting the release of her maiden Hindi film, Reema Kagti's 'Honeymoon Travels'. " I  can't wait any longer. It's turned out to be a rocking film," Bernert gushes.

Incidentally, she plays a German girl  in the film. "When I was first narrated the subject, I mistook it to be yet another stereotypical film. But  it turned out to be a great experience,"  Suzanne says.

Bernert has also lived in Dubai, where she was to make her big screen debut with the film 'Destined Heart'. "But that film is still unreleased," she says.  "'Astitva' was definitely my big break. After that I felt like doing more soaps and films. I also do theatre and Mumbai is the best place for it. Unfortunately, in Germany there isn't much of theatre. So, I am at the right place," she laughs.

But with her kind of looks, why did she choose Bollywood over Hollywood? "Frankly, I was never pulled towards Hollywood. I have always been fascinated by Asia. India is a superb place to work in. I've  never felt like an outsider here, nor have I been treated like one. People may find me different. But I am learning Hindi and have begun conversing with rickshaw-wallahs and vendors. That should help," she explains.
