The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has invited online applications for Maharashtra FYJC CET 2021 admission forms. The Class 11 admissions would be conducted on August 21, 2021 and the application form for the same is available on the official site of MSBSHSE on mahahsscboard.in.
Students who are planning to appear for the entrance examination are required to fill the online application form. The forms were expected to release on July 19. Later during the day, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad informed that the examination forms would be released on July 20 instead. Official link for the site was also released.
Varsha Gaikwad tweeted, “Imp update: CET (optional) for admissions to #FYJC will be held on August 21. The entrance test is to ensure uniformity & comparability in #FYJC #admissions & to ensure fair play for students across all boards. Details of the optional test are given below.”
He further added, "The question paper will be of 100 marks based on the Std 10th curriculum of the state board, and will be available in 8 mediums, students can notify the medium in their application forms.”

MSBSHSE is conducting CET for admissions to class 11. Notably, it is merely an optional exam for the students. In other words, if a student wishes to not appear for it, they are under no compulsion to do so.
As per further reports, all the students who have passed class 10 will be assured a seat in FYJC. However, those students who are appearing for FYJC CET 2021, they will be given priority for 11th admissions to all FYJC institutes. Once their admissions are done, it is only after the other students, those who did not appear for CET, will be given admissions.
Students can log in to the official website of board, mahahsscboard.in. After this, they will have options to appear for it or not. They can choose whatever they wish to.
It is to be noted that Maharashtra FYJC CET 2021 is free for State Board students as they had already paid the fee for SSC exams that got cancelled. However, students appearing from other boards have to pay Rs.170 to register for CET.
Meanwhile, students willing to take admissions in Diplomas and ITI courses, can do so on the basis of class 10 or SSC results. These results have been announced recently. Candidates don't have to give a separate exam for this.
About FYJC CET 2021
Admissions to Maharashtra FYJC are done every year on the basis of merit in SSC results. However, since SSC exams got cancelled this year due to the pandemic, this CET for 11th admissions is being conducted. This exam even though optional, will be based on the SSC syllabus.
