In order to review the progress of de-silting of drains, Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal presided a meeting with Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and other government officials on Thursday at Raj Niwas.

Baijal and Kejriwal stressed on the need to leverage the latest technology and asked PWD to explore the possibility of deploying a greater number of Super-Sucker Machines. With the help of these high tech machines the silt can not only be directly removed from the drains, but its re-entry can also be further prohibited.

As per the directions of the Lt Governor, PWD has established a full-time Call Centre for water logging complaints for all Departments during June to September. Residents can call at toll free no 1800-11-85-95 to register various complaints regarding water logging. PWD Monsoon Control Room is also in action from June to September.

Apart from that there is also an active Whatsapp number (8130188222) and email id (monsoondelhi2017@gmail.com), where people can call up and explain the problems that are being faced by them.

PWD has even identified 155 vulnerable locations for water logging. Precautions will be taken so that the residents of the vulnerable areas don't face problems.

In addition to this, PWD has taken long term Solutions for 53 earlier vulnerable locations by providing additional or modifying existing drains as required.
