A day after the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Delhi convenor Gopal Rai accused senior party leader Kumar Vishwas of hatching a conspiracy to topple the Delhi government, the latter hit back on Friday. The poet-turned-politician quoted popular film 'Baahubali' to attack chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders.

Indirectly comparing himself to 'Baahubali', Vishwas said: "Is Mahishmati ki Sivagami Devi koi aur hai lekin har roz yahan naye Kattappa paida ho jaatey hain (Someone else is the Sivagami Devi of this Mahishmati kingdo but every day, new Kattappas (stabbers) are born here." He was speaking to the media outside his home in Ghaziabad.

Taking a dig at Rai, Vishwas said the leader has woken up from a deep slumber seven months after the party's loss in municipal elections in Delhi. "I would like to request them to enjoy the contribution of both Guptas (Shushil Gupta and ND Gupta). You have beaten me but now don't meddle with the remains," he added.

Earlier on Thursday, Rai had addressed the party volunteers and AAP's Rajya Sabha nominees and claimed that after the Delhi civic polls in April last year, "there were attempts to bring down the government and Kumar Vishwas was the principal mover and at the centre of those conspiracies".

"He is a person who attacks the party from every possible public platform. Can such a person be sent to the Rajya Sabha?" Rai had asked in party's defense for not nominating Vishwas as its candidate.

Soon after the AAP announced its three Rajya Sabha candidates — senior party leader Sanjay Singh, a Delhi-based businessman having past links with the Congress, Shushil Gupta, and veteran Chartered Accountant Narain Dass Gupta — Vishwas went public with his fight against Kejriwal and said he was being punished for speaking the "truth".
