Two epileptic patients ended their lives in separate incidents in the city.

A 24-year-old man, suffering from epilepsy, allegedly committed suicide in his house in SR Nagar on Sunday midnight. The deceased has been identified as Satish, a pushcart vendor. He was suffering from epilepsy since childhood.

Despite treatment, he could not be cured of the ailment. This could have driven him to take the extreme step, the police said.
Satish was found hanging in his bedroom around 7 am on Monday. Satish came home in an inebriated state on Sunday night and went to sleep after dinner, the police said.

He was selling plastic items. His parents passed away during his childhood and Satish was brought up by an aunt. A case has been registered in Adugodi police station.

A 19-year-old youth, who was also suffering from epilepsy, committed suicide by hanging in his rented house at KNP Layout in Arakere on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Ramanji.

The police said he committed suicide between 3pm and 6pm. Ramanji, who was working in a hair saloon, was suffering from epilepsy for the past few years. Frustrated over this, he might have committed suicide, the police said.
