No letter to seek CBI probe into illegal mining: Yeddyurappa

Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa today said he had not received any letter from any Central minister to seek CBI probe into illegal mining in the state.
  
His comments come in the wake of a satellite survey which was conducted by a Survey of India team in Obulapuram Mining area in Andhra Pradesh following a Supreme Court directive to verify allegations of illegal mining.
  
Tourism minister Janardhana Reddy, who owns Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) and was also present, said he was confident that he would come clean in the survey.
  
On JDS chief HD Devegowda's charge that there was "no rule of law in Bellary and it was Reddy brothers (Janardhana and Revenue Minister Karunakara) ruling the roost there", he said "being a politically unemployed person, Devegowda has no other work except indulging in such allegations due to political ill-intentions". "Law and order situation is absolutely normal in Bellary", Reddy asserted.
  
On recent attack on owner of TNR mines in Bellary, Tappal Ganesh, he said "Tappal Ganesh is a helpless person. He has become a puppet of the Congress party".
   
Earlier in response to a question on Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (city corporation) polls, Yeddyurappa said "before the outcome of BBMP polls itself JDS and Congress are holding parleys to come together".
  
He said though the government was prepared to conduct elections to  gram panchayats, opposition parties were making "unnecessary allegations about the government not being interested in doing so".
