There seems no end to mix-up in the counselling for post-graduate seats conducted by the Consortium for Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K). When counselling started on Thursday, aspirants, who have already been made to wait for three days, were in confusion due to the seat matrix displayed by Comed-K.

The morning session was suspended and later started at 5pm.
Admitting to the confusion that prevailed among aspirants, Dr S Kumar, executive secretary, Comed-K, said that officials of the medical education department were called to approve the seat matrix.

Comed-K allotted 1,300 seats on Thursday and the rest would be completed on Friday. “We will allot the medical seats by Friday afternoon and allot seats for dental courses in the afternoon session,” Kumar said.

However, the students gave another version. According to them, a few seat-blockers attended counselling also on Thursday. “Five candidates were caught blocking seats and three of them were handed over to the police,” a student said.

But Kumar rejected the claims made by students and said, “No blocking happened on Thursday and no complaints have been filed. That is false information and everything has been cleared. There is no room for blocking (of seats).”
