The Lok Ayukta special court on Monday extended the judicial custody of former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and his son Katta Jagadish, the BBMP corporator, until October 26, in the multi-crore Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) scam case.

Naidu, his son Jagadish, and MD of Itasca Software SV Srinivas are facing corruption charges in the KIADB scam for irregularities in land allotment in BK Halli Village to the software company, which was reportedly floated by an aide of the senior Naidu.

When the case had come up for hearing in the morning, Katta and his son were not produced before the court. Judge NK Sudhindra Rao rapped the Lokayukta police in the afternoon, saying they should have informed the court beforehand whether the accused will be produced or not. However, during the afternoon session, the father-son duo was produced before the court by the state police. Rao then extended the judicial custody of Katta and his son until October 26.

Further, the court also issued proclamation to two other accused, S Jaggaiah and BL Venkaiah, who were absconding. They did not appear before the court even after a non-bailable warrant was issued. Hence, they were issued proclamation as offenders in this case.

Judge Sudhindra Rao has directed that the objections to the bail applications should be filed by September 24.
