The struggling Mumbai Indians will be aiming to secure consolation points as they face off against the playoff hopefuls Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial IPL 2024 match at Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
In their last game, Mumbai Indians suffered their eighth defeat of the season in a heavy loss to Kolkata Knight Riders. With a maximum of 12 points still within reach, Mumbai faces a challenging road ahead as no team has ever qualified for playoffs in a 10-team season with just six wins.
On the flip side, Sunrisers Hyderabad put an end to their two-match losing streak by narrowly defeating league leaders Rajasthan Royals by a single run while defending a total of 201. Currently sitting in fourth place in the points table with six wins, Pat Cummins and the Sunrisers are considered strong contenders for playoff qualification this season.

Tilak hooks for a boundary, then takes a single off a brilliant yorker. Natarajan concedes 10 runs in the over. MI now needs just 25 runs to win.

Surya then hits a six over long on, capitalizing on a slower delivery. Bhuvneshwar ends with a single, as Surya hits to point. Nine runs come off the over.

Tilak Varma comes in at number five. Bhuvneshwar to Suryakumar, FOUR! A gentle drive towards long-off helps SKY open account.
Marco Jansen bowls from over the wicket, starts with five wides down the leg. Kishan hits a boundary off a short and wide delivery. Four byes follow due to movement. Kishan is dismissed, edging to first slip. Naman Dhir, at number three, gets a single to get off the mark.
Bumrah bowls his final over. Cummins gets a single to cover off a slower ball. He then finds the gap through short third for a boundary. Bumrah responds with a trademark yorker, narrowly missing the stumps. A dot ball follows. Bumrah concedes a couple of singles, keeping SRH quiet. The over yields eight runs, and Bumrah finishes his spell for the day.
Piyush again. Sticks to his full length balls to both batters. Shahbaz and Jansen try and make room to find runs. Piyush then goes a tad too full and it’s in the slot for Jansen who dispatches the ball for six runs over deep midwicket. He finds the boundary yet again sweeping Piyush for four. Much needed runs for SRH.
Strategic timeout taken.
Hardik Pandya comes back for his third over and gets an immediate breakthrough. Anshul Kamboj takes a simple catch running in from point. Nitish Reddy attempted to hit a short ball outside off over cover but found the fielder instead. Marco Jansen walks in as the new batsman.
Hardik stays in the attack from one end. FOUR! Nitish plays it very late and gets an outside edge while opening the bat. FOUR! This is classy from Nitish. He stays back and plays a backfoot punch towards point. Another 11-run over for Pandya.
Debutant Anshul Kamboj bowls the second over, beginning with a wide. A few singles are scored. Kamboj bowls to Sharma, who smashes a six over extra cover. Head gets lucky with another inside edge for a boundary. Kamboj's first over yields 14 runs.
Travis Head faces Nuwan Thushara's first delivery, a wide ball. It almost escaped the keeper but was saved. Thushara's next delivery keeps Abhishek on his toes with its swing. Despite Abhishek's review for a wide, the umpire deems it fair. Head manages a fortunate boundary off an inside edge. The over concludes with seven runs scored.

Mumbai Indians win toss, opt to bowl first
Cummins: Got Agarwal coming back to the side, will bat at three. Dew is a factor here, but we have been batting well. Got four games left, will probably need to win two of those. But we're not thinking that far ahead.
Hardik: We're going to bowl first. Wicket looks fresh. Might have something with the new ball, want to exploit that. Anshul Kambhoj makes his debut. It's all about playing for pride, play for the badge. And for fans who have been with us through thick and thin.
