An explosion struck Ariana Grande's concert in northern England late on Monday. Greater Manchester police have confirmed death of 22 people and have stated that over 50 have been seriously injured in what is being looked at as an act of terrorism. "We believe, at this stage, the attack last night was conducted by one man," Manchester Chief Constable Ian Hopkins stated. Instances of the Islamic State supporters celebrating on social media after the blast were also reported, however the militant Islamist group has not formally claimed responsibility.

After the explosion, concert goers scrambled on to the streets in panic. The police and medical assistance kicked into action helping hundreds while locals opened up their homes and offered lifts to those stranded. It has now come to the fore that the blast was carried out by a suicide bomber.
