Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen got involved in a heated argument with ex-South African opener Alviro Petersen on Twitter.

Gulam Bodi, the former Proteas batsman, was sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to eight charges of corruption.

The batsman had been banned for 20 years by national body Cricket South Africa (CSA) for his role in attempting to fix or influence matches in a 2105 domestic T20 competition.

Alviro shared his thoughts about the matter on Twitter and termed the event as ‘great day for cricket’.

Petersen, Ethy Mbhalati, Thami Tsolekile, Jean Symes, Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Pumi Matshikwe were found guilty for fixing charges and were handed bans of 2-12 years.

Petersen also went full guns blazing at Kevin and reminded the England batsman of his past misdeed.

“What's wrong with it? You seem to know a lot, why was I banned for 2 years? While you are busy explaining, explain; 1. Reporting your captain to us in 2012, mid series? 2. Newlands test? That's it, FOR NOW...!!” Alviro replied back.
