Here are the updates of the fifth test between India and England at Kia Oval.
India were 58/3 in their second innings at the close of play on day four of the fifth and final test match against England at The Oval.
They still trail England by 405 runs after the hosts set them a target of 464 runs on Monday.
India lost three wickets - Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli - for just two runs at the start. KL Rahul (46) and Ajinkya Rahane (10) were at the crease.
Earlier, England declared their second innings at 423/8 after Alastair Cook and Joe Root scored centuries on Monday.
Cook, playing his final match, hit his 33rd Test century in his last innings. Cook and Root took England's lead past 350 runs before both fell in consecutive balls to Hanuma Vihari.
Alastair Cook ended his final innings at 147 while Root scored 125.
Cook became only the fifth player to score a century on both his debut and farewell with his hundred. This is Cook’s 161st Test match. In 2006, at the age of 21, he made a century on debut against India in Nagpur.
Alastair Cook is also now the most successful left-handed batsman in the history of Test cricket. Cook went past Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of 12,400 runs on Monday during his final innings. England’s all-time leading run-getter is now the fifth highest run scorer in Test cricket.

On Sunday, a superb unbeaten 86 by Ravindra Jadeja and a debut half century by Hanuma Vihari put India back in contention Having begun the day in a hole on 174-6 in reply to England's first-innings 332, India were eventually all out for 292 having clawed to within 40 of parity.
