Iraq says supports OPEC output hike to meet demand

Iraq supports an increase in OPEC output if a production hike is needed to meet rising global demand for crude, Deputy Prime Minister Hussain al-Shahristani told Reuters on Saturday.

OPEC oil ministers will meet on June 8 in Vienna to decide on output policy. Oil prices were being pushed by unrest in countries like Libya and not by actual low supplies, Shahristani said.
