ISIS reveals city of Haditha as next possible target

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has singled out the city of Haditha in Iraq as its next target according to Independent. ISIS has not been able to invade the city because of the persistent resistance from the local tribes and the Iraqi army. 

In a recent audio message from ISIS, the extremist group has asked the Sunni tribesmen of the town to surrender and has threatened that its militants can enter the town "at any moment". 

Haditha is very valuable for Islamic State as it is Iraq's second-biggest producer of hydroelectric power.  However, the city has been cut off from the rest of the world. The inhabitants of Haditha are barely managing to survive with the lack of essential resources. 

While waiting for the delivery of food aid, a resident of the town, Israa Mohammed, 38, said, "It’s like we’re not living in Iraq. There’s no way in or out. It’s like we are an island in the desert." 

The town is in a desperate state where getting electricity is a rare thing with only three to four hours of it in a day. The gasoline in the town sells for more than the quadruple of the national price of Iraq and because of the reason people are usually seen riding on bicycles.
