Starting August, Netflix will stop showing reviews for shows and movies written by users.

The feature had been specific to desktop and was witnessing reduced usage, which is why Netflix has decided to remove it, Cnet reported. The shutdown of the feature will be in stages. By July 30, users will not be able to write the reviews. In mid-August, the existing user reviews will not be visible.

Additionally, Netflix wants to go even more premium than it is currently now. The company is speculated to be mulling a new plan known as Ultra, Cnet reported. The new plan would allow four devices to receive high-quality Ultra HD video and audio streaming.

With higher resolution content, the Ultra plan is likely to reduce the benefits of Premium plan users by slashing their number of supported devices. The Netflix Ultra plan is expected to be priced around USD 19.80.

Recently, Netflix fired its chief communications officer, Jonathan Friedland following the ‘insensitive’ remarks he made to his team. Friedland used the ‘N-word’ in a meeting with other staffers, some of whom later reported the incident, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

“I am leaving Netflix after seven years. Leaders have to be beyond reproach in the example we set and unfortunately I fell short of that standard when I was insensitive in speaking to my team about words that offend in comedy. I feel awful about the distress this lapse caused to people at a company I love and where I want everyone to feel included and appreciated,” Friedland said. “I feel honoured to have built a brilliant and diverse global team and to have been part of this collective adventure in building the world’s leading entertainment service,” he added.
