Lee Chong Wei 'uneasy' about world badminton championships, says coach

Badminton's world number one Lee Chong Wei must make sure he does not get too uptight ahead of next week's world championships, according to Malaysia's national team coach.

Lee, 27, is top seed in the men's singles at the Aug. 23-29 championships in Paris but in the same half of the draw as Olympic and world champion Lin Dan of China. 

"Chong Wei feels uneasy thinking about the world championships. He needs to ease up a little," national coach Misbun Sidek told the New Straits Times newspaper.

Lee's best finish at a world championships was third in 2005 and he is likely to meet Lin, who is chasing a fourth consecutive title, in the semi-finals in France.  

"Chong Wei cannot afford to take any of his matches lightly as he is the player to beat," the coach added. "He needs to win his early matches impressively to gain the confidence before facing Lin Dan."
