The Kerala Cricket Association today expressed willingness to host one of the ODIs between India and Australia in October if the state is alloted it.

Speaking to reporters here, TC Mathew, secretary, Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), said the Australia cricket team was scheduled to tour India in October for an ODI series and that KCA is ready to host a ODI if the match was allotted to the state.

Kochi had missed out an ODI during the India-Sri Lanka series last year as per the rotation policy of the BCCI, since renovation work was going on at the stadium. "The work on the stadium is expected to be completed before October this year," he said.

About Rs1.80 crore was needed to relay the wickets, while about Rs4.50 crore would be required to replace damaged chairs in the stadium, he said. KCA will extend support to film duo Priyadarshan-Mohanlal project to own a Kerala team in the next IPL, he said.

Work on KCA's ambitious project on 24 acres at nearby Edakochi for an International Cricket Stadium was expected to start in May, he said.
