India may drop Ashwin for Perth Test

India may drop spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for the third test in Perth, beginning on January 13.

"We have to see how much grass there is and whether a spinner will get some kind of assistance or not," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Indian skipper MS Dhoni, as saying.

His comment came after inspecting the green-tinged pitch of the Western Australian Cricket Association ground in Perth.

India is looking forward to bounce back in the tournament after losing two consecutive Tests in Melbourne and Sydney.
