The South African government has awarded FIFA boss Sepp Blatter one of its top awards -  The Order of Bellend, or so it seems.

But an official website announcing the news gave his full name as "Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter".

Pranksters are thought to have altered his Wikipedia entry, which was then copied on to the site.

The cheeky name, a reference to a man's privates, made the 74-year-old Swiss a laughing stock, The Sun reports.

One joker on a British footie forum posted: "It goes to show 50 million people are not wrong!"

Blatter sparked fury by refusing to allow goal-line technology that would have proved Frank Lampard scored against Germany.

The Sun asked FIFA's Swiss HQ to comment but a spokesman said: "I need to communicate the meaning of the word internally first."
