The cricketer-turned-politician said his wife, based in Patiala, developed viral fever a few days ago and was taken to a private hospital there and as her blood platlet count dropped was taken by an air ambulance to the Apollo Hospital in Delhi.

Navjot Sidhu said he was in Mumbai when he learnt about the critical condition of his wife from Patiala-based Dr Vandana.

Sidhu said Dr Vandana had informed him that blood platlet count of Navjot Kaur had decreased and that she would immediately require high level medical treatment, after which she was shifted to the Apollo hospital in Delhi.
