After the interview, DNA received a mail from an NRI in Melbourne, offering help to Baljit. When the message was conveyed to Baljit, he informed of getting similar offers from individuals in the US.

"I have been getting calls from NRIs forsome days. People even with very humble financial background here have offered me help, when they got to know about my condition," said Baljit, who is in Alabama. Baljit says he is pleased that he is getting the support from the individuals, but at the same time the authorities' attitude upsets him.

"I am in a dilemma. I don't know what to do. I need money right now and I am getting some help offer from some individuals, but if I accept that money, it would be a matter of shame for the country, as their countrymen are ready to help me but not the authorities," he said, adding, "I got a call from an Indian, who works as a storekeeper here and another working as a truck driver. Even the other callers belong to the similar income group. I am pleased to see their gesture, but at the same time, it hurts to see the negligent attitude of the authorities."

The goalkeeper needs money, but he says he cannot take it from individuals. "I am thankful to MS Gill that he has arranged for my treatment. But at the same time, I am worried about my future. I would be happy if some authority or even some corporate house comes forward to help me," said the goalkeeper, who went under the knife for the third time.
