The online sale of tickets for Sachin Tendulkar’s 200th Test saw a mad rush of netizens once KyaZoonga.com opened the bookings on Monday morning. However, millions of fans were left disappointed as the servers crashed within minutes after the sale started.

The fans, who have waited long to grab those cherished tickets, could not log in as the website remained busy and unavailable for nearly an hour.

In fact, the website topped the trending list on Twitter with fans expressing their anger.

“#KyaZoonga is freaking trolling everyone bigtime. Showing the pages but not able to book the tickets. #Sachin” said @tideiril. While @RICTHEPUNTER said: “With the #kyazoonga trending for such a long time.. Seems like its the new agent of chaos.”

Meanwhile, the website, which is the Mumbai Cricket Association’s official ticketing partner, has claimed to have notched a stupendous 19.70 million hits within an hour of the opening of sales.

“The company witnessed an unprecedented amount of traffic on its website given the excitement around Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell match,” a KyaZoonga.com spokesperson said.

“Some people experienced delays in accessing the ticketing site following a surge in traffic around 11 am with a record 19.70 million hits within the first hour,” the spokesperson added.

The company said that if the traffic volumes continued at such high levels, “it could perhaps surpass the momentum witnessed even during past Olympic Games”. It assured that even as high traffic levels continue to be sustained, the transactions are being processed during this period and apologised for the delays, while congratulating the successful ones who managed to book tickets.
