Blackburn Rovers' beleaguered manager Steve Kean was once again the target of fan abuse during his team's 1-0 win against Hull City.

Colin Kazim-Richards' first goal for the club helped earn Kean's side a point against Ipswich on Saturday and he was on hand against Hull to claim a win, saving his manager from more calls from the home faithful to quit his job.

The official attendance at Ewood Park was 13,562, which is the lowest since 1993, and many of those spent the majority of the game chanting 'Kean out' at the Scot, despite his second-half substitutions that changed the game.

But Kean, who is backed by Indian owners Venkys, still believes he can draw the crowds back and win over the supporters who do not want him in charge as they look to return to top-flight football.

"I would imagine when we get a couple of results and we're further up the table then those who were slow to buy season tickets will come on board on our mission to try and get promoted," The Daily Express quoted Kean, as saying.

"I am sure when we get another couple of wins the fans will be happy and I'm sure they will go away thinking there are positive signs there because the new players looked good," he added.

Blackburn fans booed their team off at half time and continued to chant for the manager to be removed after the break.
