The ninth Indian Premier League registered 360 million interactions and over 140 million video views on Facebook, the highest that the social networking site ever recorded in any season.

The Facebook pages of the IPL and eight teams totaled over 360 million posts, comments, likes, and 140 million video views, this season drove the highest level of conversation Facebook has measured for any IPL.

RCB captain and Player of the Tournament Virat Kohli was the most talked about player, and new team Gujarat Lions was the most talked about team this season. For the second year in a row the most viewed video on Facebook during the IPL belonged to the bhangra dancing trio of Mandeep Singh, Virat Kolhi and Chris Gayle, from Royal Challengers Bangalore. This year, the celebration video uploaded by Mandeep Singh following their Raipur match garnered over 7 million views.

During the 50-day tournament the Indian Premier League Facebook page grew by over 2 million fans to 18.3 million. Throughout the IPL, the league shared pitch reports, warm-ups, as well as in match highlight video clips and pictures on Facebook and Instagram
