Twitter, the platform that is as much known for its ability to deliver up-to-the-second news as it is for generating tons of largely useless content, is working on something brands may find particularly useful. With the aim to help companies cut through the chaff and locate those users’ messages that paint them in a good light, the company is reportedly working on a service that will locate the good stuff you Tweet about brands.

As brands jostle with each other in the milieu that is social media as they strive to reach relevant audiences, this tool could be invaluable to brands in their effort to find and bubble up positive feedback and views about their products and services. As part of this system, when these particular tweets are located brands would have the option of sending a DM to the user requesting permission to use their Tweet in their own marketing campaign. There’s even a special name for such campaigns--the ‘Brand Enthusiast Gallery’--where these Tweets will purportedly appear beneath the brand’s standard promoted Tweet.

The exact nature of the technology used to identify these Tweets--whether they’d be selected algorithmically or using an actual team of humans--is as yet unknown. It also isn’t clear whether any type of incentive would be offered to the user for utilizing their Tweet as part of a larger brand campaign.
