You have NASA astronaut Scot Kelly, on board the International Space Station, to thank for the image.

US astronaut Scott Kelly has spent the last 415 days on board the International Space Station (ISS), as part of a year-long experiment to study how prolonged spaceflight can adversely affect the human body. And while he's had plenty of other jobs to do, ranging from experiments in zero gravity, to helping repair a damaged gas leak, Kelly is very active on Twitter with a number of awe-inspiring shots of the Earth's surface.
One capture in particular should provoke interest in our Indian readers. On Sunday, Kelly tweeted a picture of South India, light up at night. No, this one's not a fake. The image was captured using a Nikon D4 with a 28mm lens. If you look closely, you can even find major cities in the photo, marked by the bright clusters of light they form. The image has gone viral online, with over 4,000 retweets and just under 7,500 likes as of the time of writing this.
