Samsung may unveil new Gear VR that works with older smartphones

Samsung marked August 2nd to launch the Galaxy Note 7 at a media event in New York City. Rumour has it that the smartphone may not be the only device unveiled at the event. 

A reputed technology tipster know as OnLeaks, recently leaked photos and details of Samsung's new smartphone as well as the next Gear VR headset. The new headset will most likely support the Note 7, it is also rumoured to support older Samsung flagship smartphones up till the Galaxy S6.

The new virtual reality headset will purportedly have a wider viewing angle at 110 degrees, compared to the previous version of the headset at 96 degrees. 

Not much else is known in terms of specification. The current Gear VR is priced at Rs 7,999, so potential customers should expect the next-gen Gear VR to fall in a similar price range unless something significant is revealed.
