Sachin Tendulkar-branded smartphone to launch in India today

Smartron will introduce an exclusive Sachin Tendulkar-branded smartphone - srt.phone – in India today at 11:30AM IST. The device will be unveiled by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar himself, who has been the brand ambassador of the tech company since the start.

Smartron India tweeted, "Ready for a surprise? We're excited & can't wait to share it with you all. #srtphone is on its way on 3rd May'17, are you ready?" This will be the second smartphone by the company.

Recently, Smartron appointed former Motorola India executive Amit Boni as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. In this role, he will be responsible for overall brand building and heading the sales and marketing functions for Smartron. "Along with experience, he brings with him new age thinking and a challenger mindset, we are positive that he will help us build India's first true global product tech and IoT brand," Smartron founder and Chairman Mahesh Lingareddy said.
