People the world over have been playing Pokemon Go, as clearly evidenced by the numbers the game is raking up. But most of those users are playing the game via unofficial channels, as Nintendo takes its time with a worldwide release.

So far, the game is only available in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, with Germany being added to the gang just today. Now, the Wall Street Journal reports the AR game might be making it’s way to Asia and Europe “within a few days”.

According to WSJ, sources close to the game made the statement, but no definitive confirmation could be obtained.

In the meantime, Android users are sideloading the app’s APK to play the game, while iOS users are skirting the restriction by creating a new Apple ID, signed in from one of the countries with the game available.

Of course, Nintendo has been forthcoming about their problems with the number of servers available, clearly having underestimated how Pokemon Go would take off. Hopefully, the global rollout will continue on schedule, and users can play their favourite game without the unnecessary malware risks.
