Worldwide augmented reality smash hit Pokemon Go has finally breached Asia-Pacific in force, with the game being launched to 15 countries over the weekend.

Developer Niantic says the game has now been launched in Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and Palau. The app is available on both Android and iOS across the 15 countries.

Of course, this latest series of rollouts leaves out some major Asian markets, namely China, India, and South Korea. Of course, Niantic CEO John Hanke has said in the past that the expansion to South Korea has been delayed, thanks to the restrictions placed on Google Maps in the area, owing to security concerns over North Korea. Additionally, he’s also stated that China’s delay is thanks to regulatory hurdles that have not yet been resolved.

However, it’s still unclear why India hasn’t yet been granted access to the popular game, though Niantic has hinted that their unfortunate server overloads might be playing a part there.
