Pebble launches a new round-face smartwatch, Pebble Time Round for US $249

Pebble has launched a new round-face smartwatch, the first of its kind in their lineup so far. The Pebble Time Round, is thin, really thin, and claims to be skinniest smartwatch around. 

The Pebble Time Round is just 7.5mm thin and weighs in at 28g, with an always-on e-paper display. It has various band colours and comes in two leather band sizes - 20mm and 14mm, with metallic bands coming later this year. Black or Silver watch finishes are available, and a special edition Rose Gold finish for the 14mm band. Pebble claims their Time Round has a "days-long battery life", and a 15min quick charge will get you a day’s worth of usage. It's also water resistant, so you don't have to worry about the weather when you put on your smartwatch.

The Pebble Time Round starts at US $249 from Pebble.com, Best Buy, Target, and Amazon, shipping worldwide. US and Canadian retailers will get the smartwatch early November with UK and the EU getting it early 2016. 

Kickstarter backers for their previous smartwatch, the Pebble Time Steel, will also get a bunch of added opportunities. You can reserve the Pebble Time Round from the company's website, before November 8, with the same email address you used to back Pebble Time Steel on Kickstarter and you'll receive a US $50 discount when you're charged once the order ships. On top of that, there's a 30-day trial period when you receive the Pebble Time Round. In that time, you can either keep the new watch at the discount price, or return either one of the smartwatches and receive a refund for the Time Round order price (minus return shipping).
