The OnePlus X got a price cut in India however, it only applies to the Onyx (black) version of the smartphone.

The device which was previously priced at Rs 16,999 for the 16GB (inbuilt storage) variant is now listed on Amazon India for Rs 14,999. While the Champagne and Ceramic variants still carry their introductory price of Rs 16,999 and Rs 22,999 respectively.

The price cut comes just a few days after competitor Xiaomi launched their new flagship, the Mi 5 with the first ever Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset in India.

A few weeks ago, The OnePlus 2 also received a price cut. Now, the 16GB variant is priced at Rs 20,999 while the 64GB model cost Rs 22,900.

Although it seems like good news, it should be noted that the chipsets that come equipped with the OnePlus X and OnePlus 2 are outdated. There are currently smartphones that cost much less while still boasting better specifications.

Apart from that, OnePlus is expected to announce the OnePlus 3 on April 7 at an event in Beijing, so buying either OnePlus devices right now may not be such a good idea.
