Motorola launches 4th-generation Moto G and Moto G Plus in India

The smartphones will be exclusively available on Amazon India’s official website on 18th May.

The Lenovo-owned smartphone manufacturer Motorola launches the latest 4th-generation Moto G and two variants of the Moto G Plus smartphones in India.

For the most part, the smartphones are very similar, the devices boast a 7.9mm thick body with rounded edges and a Micro-textured back. The smartphones also come with a 5.5-inch FHD (1920x1080 pixels)  display and pixel density of 401ppi. All three devices will sport Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Nano-Coating (for water) protection.

The smartphones are equipped with an Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset that harbours an Octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, Adreno 405 GPU and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The devices come with a TurboPower charger which the company says gives 6 hours of power after just 15 minutes of charging.

The smartphones will support Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, Dual SIM and 4G/3G connectivity options. The Moto Plus smartphones will have a fingerprint sensor that can store up to 5 fingerprints.

On the camera front,  The Moto G (4th-gen) comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera while both variants of the Moto G Plus have a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The Moto G Plus is available in two variants: 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage priced at Rs 13,499 and 3GB of RAM with 32GB of inbuilt storage priced at Rs 14,999.

The standard Moto G comes with 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage though Motorola is yet to announce pricing for the smartphone.

The smartphones come with black and white colour options and are exclusively available on Amazon India on 18th May.
