Lenovo has launched the Z2 Plus smartphones in India which were first launched in China under the ZUK brand name.

There are two variants of the smartphone: 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage, priced at Rs 17,999 while the 4GB RAM with 64GB of inbuilt storage variant costs Rs 19,999. Storage on both variants is not expandable.

Apart from that, the specifications are the same. The Lenovo Z2 Plus is equipped with a 5-inch screen with full HD (1920x1080) resolution and 2.5D curved glass. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor and Adreno 530 GPU.

The smartphone houses a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, electronic image stabilisation (EIS), PDAF and dual-LED flash. It also sports an 8-megapixel front camera.

The Lenovo Z2 is current the cheapest smartphone to offer a Snapdragon 820 chipset. The company has also launched the U Health fitness tracker app which integrates the smartphone's sensors to track steps taken, distance travelled and calories burned.

Lenovo opted for a fibreglass frame in the Lenovo Z2, as the company believes that it lighter, stronger and gives better network reception than a metal finish. The phone features a home button integrated with U-Touch 2 fingerprint sensor technology for gesture support.

The Lenovo Z2 Plus runs near stock Android OS and is backed by a 3500mAh battery. The smartphone also comes with dual-SIM support (nano SIMs), 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity options.

The smartphones will be sold exclusively on Amazon India starting from 25th September at midnight and are available in black and white colour options.
